Pride of Guernsey: Chateau des Tielles staff members

STAFF at Chateau des Tielles have been praised highly for the attentiveness and care they show their charges at the nursing and residential home.

Their nomination for the Specsavers-sponsored Carer of the Year award comes from Louise Le Vallee and Luke O’Donnell, who believe staff members’ efforts should be recognised after their mother was put into care last year.
‘Mum always says there is no place like home, but the Chateau des Tielles is close,’ the nominators said. ‘I can honestly say we chose the right place.’
Both nominators have commended the staff for their family-orientated and cheerful qualities, keeping their mum comfortable.
‘Whether it is taking the residents out for ice cream, fish and chips or even simply joking with them, they’re so attentive.’
Chateau des Tielles, owned and managed by Peter and Shirley Adams, focuses on providing a high standard of individual nursing care using fully qualified staff who devise care plans suited to each resident and their particular needs.
‘No one likes to see a parent having to be looked after in a nursing home, but we know when we say bye to her she is well cared for.’
‘We can’t choose just one person as they are all totally amazing and we cannot thank them enough for the care they give mum.’
